Another woodblock that may eventually turn into a print. In case the design looks familiar to some people, I used the Chrysler Building in NYC as inspiration.

This is a woodblock that’ll be used for prints eventually. It will not be the colors you see on the block. I use those as my way to know which layer to cut first. I drew it and cut the first layer this morning, making a nice mess of wood shavings in my apartment.

This is actually a “happy accident” I created this morning. It was caused by me printing one wood block I had started to carve (a fish) in green on one side of cheap paper a while ago and then printing a separate wood block I had started to carve (peacock feathers) in red on the opposite side of the paper this morning just as a test. When the very thin paper is put in the scanner, the bright light makes it look like they were printed right on top of one another and creates a pretty interesting piece.
